The Telesis marking head is designed to permanently mark messages on a variety of materials, including steel and aluminium. A hardened pin is pneumatically accelerated to create dot matrix characters by indenting the surface of the workpiece. The life of the marking pin largely depends on the material being marked, including its hardness, abrasiveness, and the required marking depth. The system includes two regulators with pressure gauges to control both the drive air and return air. The TMC470 Controller features an integrated keyboard and a four line LCD display. It serves as the main electrical interface and provides full software control for the TMP3200 marking head.
